What to expect: transfer student application
The big picture: transferring to NAU
Here’s a quick look at the journey ahead:
1. Submit your application
Applying takes about 20 minutes. You’ll create your NAU account and upload transcripts from all colleges or universities you’ve attended.
2. Get your admission decision
We review applications on a rolling basis. Most transfer students with a 2.0 GPA or higher in college-level coursework are eligible for admission.
3. Accept your offer and submit your enrollment fee
Once admitted, you can secure your spot by accepting your offer and paying your $250 enrollment fee (if applicable). Statewide and online students do not pay an enrollment fee.
4. Transfer your credits and apply for financial aid
Our transfer credit team will evaluate your coursework. You can also file your FAFSA and apply for scholarships (many are specifically for transfer students!).
5. Choose your housing or explore off-campus options
If you plan to live on campus, you’ll get access to the housing portal after your deposit is submitted. Many transfer students also live off campus in Flagstaff.
6. Complete your enrollment tasks
Before classes start, you’ll finish enrollment tasks like advising, class registration, and submitting any final documents.
Timeline at a glance
