Steps post-acceptance: first year student

Congratulations, Lumberjack! Welcome to NAU

Once you’re accepted to NAU, follow these steps to complete the admissions process:

1.  Confirm your enrollment

Accept your offer and pay your enrollment fee. This secures your spot and enables you to apply for housing. Please allow one business day for payment processing before applying for housing.

• Fall: The enrollment fee is $325. This fee is due by May 1 and is non-refundable after June 1.
• Spring: The enrollment fee is $325 and is due by December 1.

2. If you haven’t already, apply for financial aid

Complete the FAFSA and take advantage of scholarships and grants to minimize your cost of attendance at NAU. Be sure to review the financial aid instructions for all the details you need.

3. Apply for housing

If you plan on living on campus, review application deadlines and learn how to apply for housing at NAU.

4. Apply for scholarships

• Additional scholarships are available for transfer students via ScholarshipUniverse.
• The general and NAU Foundation scholarship applications close on April 15.

5. Complete priority enrollment and academic advising

Kick off your first semester by signing up for Priority Enrollment to complete academic advising and register for your first semester of classes. This isn’t mandatory for incoming freshmen, but is recommended for any new student looking for academic guidance.

6. Apply to the Honors College (optional)

The Honors College requires an additional application that opens in September.

7. Send us your transcripts

• Have final, official high school transcripts sent from your high school.
  • Fall deadline: July 1
  • Spring deadline: January 5

8. Upload important documents

Students at NAU’s Flagstaff campus should upload important documents, including your immunization records and ID photo, as outlined in your LOUIE account. Visit the Health & Wellness page to review immunization requirements, frequently asked questions, and instructions for submission.
