What to expect: first-year student application
The big picture: applying to NAU
Here’s a quick look at the journey ahead:
1. Apply online
It only takes about 20 minutes to complete your application. You’ll get an NAU account to track your progress and receive updates.
2. Get your admission decision
NAU has a guaranteed admission policy for Arizona residents who meet basic academic requirements, so most decisions come quickly.
3. Accept your offer and submit your enrollment fee
Once you’re admitted, you can officially reserve your spot by accepting your offer and paying your $325 enrollment fee.
4. Apply for financial aid and scholarships
Starting October 1, you can file your FAFSA and begin applying for scholarships.
5. Choose your housing
After your deposit is submitted, you’ll get access to the housing portal to select your campus living community. Apply early to get your top residence hall choice.
6. Complete your to-do list
Before classes start, you’ll take care of things like submitting final transcripts, submitting immunization documentation, enrolling in courses, submitting an ID photo and prepare for onboarding.
