The Steve Sanghi College of Engineering
At The Steve Sanghi College of Engineering (SCE), students build more than just skills. They help build the future. With a focus on hands-on learning, close faculty mentorship, and a culture of curiosity, SCE prepares students to solve real-world problems from day one. Whether you’re drawn to robotics, environmental engineering, or designing the next big innovation, you’ll find the tools, support, and opportunities to get there.
Why students choose SCE
#5 in Engineering degrees to Native American students
#13 in the nation for Information B.S degree
$88 Million in active research grants

Learning that goes beyond the classroom
- Students work on real projects through capstone design courses, often as part of competitive student teams.
- Faculty advisors mentor these teams, helping them achieve national recognition. SCE teams often outperform schools much larger in size.
- Students take part in experiential learning, whether through design-build-test projects or research alongside faculty.
- Class sizes average 25–30 students, giving you and your peers space to ask questions, explore ideas, and build strong connections.
Where SCE can take you
Graduates of SCE go on to careers with industry leaders like Boeing, Raytheon, Apple, and Honeywell. Our program has a strong track record of job placement, and the skills students learn from technical know-how to team collaboration are in demand.
SCE is also a place where undergrads can engage in research early on. It’s small enough to stay connected to its roots, but with the resources and faculty expertise to offer world-class research opportunities. Programs like environmental engineering (the first of its kind in Arizona), robotics, and new technology tracks highlight our commitment to innovation.

Take the next step
NAU’s civil engineering program is very practice based. Their whole mantra is creating practice ready engineers. I think our professors have a lot of industry experience and I think that really shines through in our curriculum and then in what students go and do after they graduate.

Ready to apply?
Whether you’re just exploring or already set on joining the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering, we’re here to help. From your first question to your first day, our team is ready to support you every step of the way.

Support future engineers
Your gift helps future engineers turn ideas into action. Donations to SCE support student design projects, scholarships, lab upgrades, and hands-on learning opportunities that define the SCE experience. Every contribution helps us build a stronger future—one student at a time.
